Sag Hollow Golf News by Deron Mays (10/9/25)

The Owsley County Owls and Lady Owls golf teams held a scramble (10/5/25) at Sag Hollow to raise funds for their programs and the event was well attended. 36 golfers divided into 12 teams participated in the 3 players per team tournament. The scramble was a “bring your own team” setup.  When all the scorecards were turned in at the clubhouse the winning team with a  score of -15 (57) was Jake Anderson, Jayden Baldwin and Tim Anderson. The second place team with a -13 was composed of Luke Bellamy, Isaac Bellamy and LJ Noble.

Cash prizes and a skins match were also part of the fun. All the skins, a total of $360,  were won by the Bellamy cousins and Noble.  There were also prizes (dozen Strixon golf balls) awarded for closest to the pins on the par 3 3rd and 6th holes as well as the second shot on the par 4 number 7 hole. Randy Osborne was the winner on number 3, Gary Bowling on number 6 and Cody Pennington on number 7. In addition, there was a prize on number 9 for the longest putt and that was won by Jake Anderson.  Kyle Bobrowski and Randy Osborne, head coaches of the Owls and Lady Owls golf teams, coordinated the event. They want to thank all the sponsors that helped make this a successful tournament, as well as all the golfers who came out to enjoy a beautiful day for good cause. - Info via Deron Mays.
