The last time Owsley County matched up with Jackson County in early December in McKee, they came away with a 50-40 victory. This time around, however, in the rematch in Booneville, the Lady Generals flipped the script and utilized some magnificent 3-point accuracy (twelve total for the game) to come away with a 52-34 victory.
Owsley trailed by five points at halftime and was still in position to win the contest, but a strong third quarter propelled the Lady Generals to a 17-point lead, and they continued on to claim the win.
One notable point of interest in the game was the number of middle school players on each team. Owsley County has six seventh-graders and one eighth-grader, and Jackson County has five seventh-graders and two eighth-graders.
Owsley has no seniors, and Jackson County has one, so these two young teams will be back for several more seasons.
