Roger Dale Messer, husband of Linda Sue Reece Messer and son of the late Willie and Eva Hicks Messer was born in Oneida, Kentucky on March 15, 1948 and departed this life in Dry Ridge, Kentucky on October 24, 2025 at the age of 77 years, 7 months, and 9 days. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War and was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Christian Church. In addition to his wife, Linda Messer of Dry Ridge, Kentucky, Mr. Messer is survived by his siblings, Ray Messer of Hebron, Kentucky, Alice “Eddie” Starnes of Union, Kentucky, and Bobby Messer and wife Lisa of Owenton, Kentucky; his sister-in-law, Brenda Hall of Cynthiana, Kentucky; two brothers-in-law, Kenneth Gentry and wife Connie of Warsaw, Kentucky and Frankie Gentry and wife Pam of Walton, Kentucky; and a host of nieces and nephews. Mr. Messer was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Michael and Shane.
Services held October 27, 2025 at Newnam Funeral Home of Beattyville. Burial in Beatty Place Cemetery of New Yellow Rock Rd, Lee Co. Newnam in charge of arrangements.
