Ariana Rodriguez, the first former foster youth to be crowned Miss Kentucky.
Rodriguez grew up navigating foster care, homelessness and uncertainty about her future.
Now, as Miss Kentucky 2025, she is using her platform to advocate for children and teens in foster care and serving as a role model for them to pursue their dreams.
Today, more than 8,600 kids are in foster care across the Commonwealth, according to the Cabinet for Health and Family Services (CHFS). Kentucky faces a significant shortage of foster care parents, leaving more children needing placement than available foster homes.
Foster parents can be single, married, young, or older– the most important quality is a willingness to open your heart and home to a child in need.
