Mila Abner, age 99, passed away Monday, March 2, 2026 at the Lee County Care and Rehabilitation Center in Beattyville, KY. Mila was born July 24, 1926 in Vada, KY, a daughter to the late John H. Abner, and Doll (Drake) Abner. She was a homemaker, as well as an assistant post mistress at Vada USPS, participated in the Green Thumb Program, and assisted at the Jerry Young House for a brief amount of time. In her free-time she enjoyed cooking, embroidery, working in her flowers, and spending most of her days on the family farm.
Mila is survived by her nieces & nephews; Charles R. (Dorinda) Abner of Wildwood, FL, Mary (Rick) Johnson of Beattyville, KY, Vanda Gay Williams of Beattyville, KY, Carol Roberts of Richmond, VA, John (Nancy) Abner of Beattyville, KY, and Gerald (Belva) Abner of Beattyville, KY, Great nieces and nephews; Kim (Mark) Kays, Chuck Abner, Paul (Lisa) Abner, Matthew (Heather) Abner, Brian (Janice) Abner, Arthur Abner, Kathy Fasbinder, John Mike Abner, Crystal Abner, Ed Williams, “Bert” Roberts, Myra Ann Roberts, Rhonda (Joe) Casey, and Rashid (Nicki) Derricks, several great- great nieces and nephews, as well as many other family members, friends, and caregivers. She was preceded in death by her parents; John & Doll Abner, siblings; Kenneth Abner, Ila Barnes, Nola Abner, and Arthur Von Abner, nieces & nephew; Buddy Abner, Jeanette Moore, and Harriett Derricks.
Services held March 6, 2026 at Booneville Funeral Home. John Abner officiating. Burial in Abner Lutes cemetery of Beattyville. Booneville Funeral in charge of arrangements.
