Maybellene Gray, the daughter of the late Virgil and Lilly Goe, was born in Beattyville, Kentucky on April 1, 1939. She departed this life on April 28, 2026 in Mt Sterling, Kentucky at the age of 87. She was employed in the early 1970’s by C.M. Paula Company in Cincinnati, Ohio in the sales department and as a statistical clerk. She was also a homemaker. She loved to cook, collect recipes, quilt and plant flowers. Maybellene is survived by one daughter, Lisa Nicole Smyth with husband Rick. Three grandchildren Nicole Griffin, Emily Brianna Smyth and PFC Logan Carter Smyth. Two sisters LaNev Tipton and Laverne Sumpter; one brother Harold Goe and a host of nieces and nephews.
Maybellene is preceded in death by her mother and father, one son Herman Griffin Jr, one brother Willis Goe and twin siblings Gail and Gaithal Goe.
Visitation held May 9th, 2026 at Newnam Funeral Home of Beattyville. Graveside services followed at Horn Cemetery of Lee Co. Newnam in charge of arrangements.
