Lesley “Chew” Estes, Jr., husband of Thelma Cornett Estes and son of the late Lesley Estes, Sr. and Dora Terry Estes was born in Lee County, Kentucky on September 24, 1956 and departed this life at his home in Beattyville, Kentucky on January 29, 2026 at the age of 69 years, 4 months, and 5 days. He was a former Kentucky State Highway Employee.
Chew is survived by his loving wife, Thelma Estes of Beattyville, Kentucky; two children, Mary Estes McIntosh and husband Jeff also of Beattyville and Matthew Estes and wife Melissa of Lexington, Kentucky; two granddaughters, Weslyn McIntosh and fiancé Joe Terry of Beattyville and Mariyah Estes of Lexington; two sisters, Carol Ann Patmore and husband Richard of Richmond, Indiana and Debbie Estes of Beattyville; two special friends, Benny Reece, Ruth Young and Larry Longworth all of Beattyville; and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Chew is preceded in death by one brother, Herman Lee Estes; and special friends, Bill Begley and Paul McIntosh.
Services held Monday Feb. 2, 2026 at Newnam Funeral Home of Beattyville. Burial in Quillen Brandenburg Cemetery of Lee Co. Newnam in charge of arrangements.
