Larry Joe Wilson, age 68, passed away, Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at the Baptist Health Hospital located in Lexington, KY.
Larry was born December 14, 1954 in Booneville, KY, a son to the late Oakley Wilson Sr., and Rhonda Mae (Sizemore) Wilson. He retired from the Owsley County School System, and was a minister with the Church of God. Larry spent most of his free-time evangelizing, and working on his television ministry program. He was a lifelong fan of the University of Kentucky Wildcats, Cincinnati Reds & Bengals. When given the chance he enjoyed fishing, golfing, target practice with his daughters, playing basketball with his children, and other kids in the community. He loved spending time with his family, and playing family games with them like Taboo, Checkers, or Canasta. He was also a member of the Lexington Road Church of God.
Along with his wife of 46 years; Vickie (McIntosh) Wilson, he is survived by 1 son; Brian (Patricia) Wilson, 2 daughters; Tabitha Wilson, and Aleisha (Daniel) Wilson Mangus, 1 brother; Oakley Wilson Jr, 2 sisters; Cora Fern (Clint) Sparkman, and Geraldine Gaines, 6 grandchildren; Joseph Clay, Jordan Brian, Victoria Annalise, Alden Oakley, Aidan Jace, and Addison Noel, as well as many other loving family members, and friends.
Along with his parents; Rhonda Mae & Oakley Wilson Sr., he was preceded in death by 1 brother; Robert Wilson, and 1 sister; Genevieve Green.
Visitation will be held Saturday, October 7, 2023 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Booneville Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 2:00 pm at the Booneville Funeral Home with Brother Raymond Moore officiating.
