LADY OWLS/OWLS CONCLUDE REGULAR SEASON AND PREPARE FOR DISTRICT TOURNAMENT

Posted
With the 56th district tournament commencing on Monday, February 23, and concluding on February 26 at Lee County High, both the girls' and boys' teams have completed their regular season schedules. The boys concluded their season on Tuesday at Oneida Baptist, while the girls played three games this past week.

The first of the three games, played on Tuesday at Williamsburg, resulted in a victory for the Lady Owls. The contest was closely contested in the first quarter, with the Lady Jackets holding a one-point lead. However, Owsley gained momentum in the second quarter, leading 33-23 at halftime, and continued to expand their lead throughout the second half. The Lady Owls ultimately emerged victorious, winning 65-40.

The following night, the Lady Owls hosted Lynn Camp from Knox County. The Lady Wildcats remained within striking distance of Owsley throughout the game but were unable to overtake them. The quarter scores had Owsley leading each period, 21-17, 36-31, 53-44, and ultimately winning 71-62.
The final game of the week was played at home against Wolfe County. The Lady Owls quickly established a lead, fueled by Harley Dooley's impressive three-point shooting, where she ended the game 6/7 from behind the arc.

Owsley led 34-13 at halftime and maintained their advantage, ultimately winning 57-42.
