Judy Murrell Charles, wife of Danny Charles and daughter of the late Charlie and Mildred Gabbard Murrell was born in Clay County, Kentucky on September 5, 1958 and departed this life in Lexington, Kentucky on June 5, 2026 at the age of 67 years, 8 months, and 29 days. She was a homemaker and former seamstress at Lion Apparel and she attended the Beattyville First Church of God. She also had a special love for animals and found great joy in caring for them throughout her life. Her kindness, compassion, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. In addition to her husband, Danny Charles, Judy is survived by two children, Chad Charles and Karry Pelfrey and husband Andrew; one granddaughter, Danni Lynn Pelfrey all of Beattyville, Kentucky; one sister, Janice Reynolds and husband David of Jackson, Kentucky; one brother, Bill Murrell and wife Ava Sue of Booneville, Kentucky; a special niece, Rachel Cole of Beattyville; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Mildred Murrell; and one sister, Lucy Burroughs. Lee County EMS will be serving as pallbearers.
Services held June 10, 2026 at Newnam Funeral Home of Beattyville. Burial; Ashcraft Cemetery of Fairground Ridge Rd, Lee Co. Newnam in charge of arrangements.
