Johnny (John) Green Stamper, age 81, of Hermitage , Missouri, passed away on August 6, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. He was born September 2, 1943 in Beattyville, Kentucky, to Clayton and Pauline (Wilson) Stamper. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, stationed at Whiteman Air Force Base, where he met the love of his life, Beverly. They shared nearly 60 years of marriage before her passing.
A hardworking and dedicated man, John retired from his career as a power plant maintenance mechanic and made Sibley, MO his home for more than four decades. Outside of work, he found joy in the outdoors—bird hunting alongside his beloved dogs, Rusty and Hannah, and spending countless weekends camping and fishing at the lake. He was a man of deep faith who loved God, his family, and his friends. Known for his strong sense of right and wrong and his willingness to share his faith at every opportunity, he touched the lives of many with his kindness, encouragement, and unwavering convictions.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Beverly; sister, Mary Francis “Dolly”Flinchum; and brothers Jack, Gene, and Paul Stamper. He is survived by his daughter, Nicole, and son-in-law, Dennis, as well as his brother Marvin “Sonny” Stamper. His life was an example of what love truly is—steady, selfless, and enduring. He could always be counted on to help with whatever the need, leaving behind a legacy of generosity, devotion, and faith.
