John Michael “Mikie” Moore Jr., 39, of Beattyville, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on September 1, 1986, in Lexington, KY, Mikie was the beloved son of Karen and Jr. Brandenburg and the late John Moore. He was a proud father, loving son, cherished brother, and loyal friend whose presence brought love, laughter, and countless memories to those fortunate enough to know him. Mikie will be remembered for his kind heart, generous spirit, sense of humor, strength, and loyalty. He is survived by his beloved daughters, Serena Lynn Moore (Paiton) and Payton Nickole Shuler; his mother, Karen Brandenburg; his father, Jr. Brandenburg; his siblings, Randy Brandenburg (Samantha), Ashley Moore, Shawna Smallwood (Buddy), Tabitha Moore, and Stephanie George (Sam); and their children, Hunter, Hallie, Harper Brandenburg, Ryleigh Smallwood, and Addison George; his grandmother, Carolyn Stacey; aunt, Sharon Estes; and numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends who will miss him deeply. He was preceded in death by his father, John Moore; paternal grandparents, Everett and Eudell Moore; maternal grandfather, Robert Estes; and maternal great-grandparents, Odell and Gracie Estes. Though his time with us was far too short, the love Mikie gave and the memories he created will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His greatest legacy will forever be his two daughters, who will carry his love with them throughout their lives.
