James Simpson, age 70, passed away Monday, April 27, 2026 at the Hazard Regional Medical Center in Hazard, KY. James was born March 16, 1956 in Stanford, KY, a son to the late Robert L. Simpson, and Martha (Hubbard) Simpson. He was a valued member of the Franklin Fire Department, in Franklin, OH, and in his free-time, he enjoyed being with his family, and working around his home.
He is survived by his wife; Pauline (Abner) Simpson of Booneville, KY, 1 son; James Neil (Ashley) Simpson, 1 daughter; Amber Dawn (Matthew) McElwain, 3 brothers; Robert Simpson, Marvin Simpson, and Ronnie Simpson, 2 sisters; Juanita Willis, and Linnie Sutton, 3 grandchildren; Nehemiah Simpson, Anabelle Simpson, and Sawyer Simpson, as well as many other loving family members, and friends.
Along with his parents; Robert & Martha Simpson, he was preceded in death by 1 sister; Brenda Burch.
A graveside service was held Saturday, May 2, 2026 at the Brock Cemetery located on Copper Creek Road, in Crab Orchard, KY with Pastor Robert Branscum officiating. He was laid to rest in the Brock Cemetery. The Booneville Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
