James D. Green, age 75, passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at the Baptist Health Hospital, located in Lexington, KY.
James was born September 8, 1948 in Oneida, KY, a son to the late George & Bessie (Shepherd) Green. He was teacher with the Owsley County School System for nearly 40 years, as well as a Veteran of the United States Army. James truly loved his family, and his school system.
He is survived by 3 sons; Jim (Denise) Green, Paul (Shellean) Green, and Shaun (Becky) Green, 1 daughter; Reagan Coomer, 1 brother; Sam Green, 1 sister; Sharon Gipson, life partner; Betsy Coomer, 16 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and many other loving family members & friends.
Along with his parents; George & Bessie Green, he was preceded by his wife; Sharon Green, 5 brothers, and 1 sister.
Visitation will be held Friday, September 6, 2024 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at the Booneville Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 7, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Booneville Funeral Home with Rev. J. Jamison Brunk officiating.
