Hester Reece Frost, age 94

Hester Reece Frost, age 94 years, 7 months, and 4 days, of Canyon Falls, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 6, 2026. She passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on November 6, 1931, in Heidelberg, Kentucky, Hester was the daughter of the late Jesse and Ada Conley Reece and the beloved wife of the late Woodrow “Woody” Frost. Throughout her life, Hester was known as a strong, independent woman who loved her family fiercely. Whether she was leading women union workers, hand-sewing clothes for her family, or preparing delicious home-cooked meals, she poured her energy and love into caring for others. She enjoyed gardening, volunteering at the church sale house, helping children attend camp, and opening her home as a safe and welcoming place for many. Hester also enjoyed traveling, playing cards, and was a member of the Red Hat Society for several years. Above all, Hester dedicated her life to serving God and her family. She attended Canyon Falls Evangelical Congregational Church. Hester is survived by her daughter, Ellen Warren, and her son, Walter Frost; grandsons, James Michael Warren and Mason Warren; granddaughters, Morgan Shantel Miller, Desiree Russell, Vivian Block, and Anne Hatton; great-granddaughters, Matti Frost, Danielle Frost, and Harlee Wilson; and one sister, Alberta Hale. Hester also leaves behind countless others who lovingly considered her their grandmother, as well as many nieces, nephews, dear friends, and loved ones whose lives she touched throughout the years.

   In addition to her husband, Woody, she was preceded in death by her dear son-in-law, James Warren, Daughter-in-law, Ellen Frost and grandsons, Matthew Frost and Daniel Frost. Brothers, Albert, Andy, Bud, Charlie, Glenn, Jim and Cecil. Sisters, May, Callie, and Duckie. Those who knew Hester will remember her infectious laugh, unwavering strength, and generous spirit. Her kindness, devotion to her family, and her unconditional love will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all.

   Services held June 11, 2026 at Newnam Funeral Home with Buddy Johnson officiating. Burial; St. Helens Cemetery of Lee Co. 

   Pallbearers: Bill Pitmon, Tim Moore, Lyndon Wilson, Keith Smith, Jesse Keith Smith, Kyle Smith, Donald Hayes, Dean Addison, David Addison. Honorary Pallbearers: Walter Frost, James Michael Warren and Mason Warren. Newnam in charge of arrangements.
