George Olive Best, age 79 of Clinton, KY passed away Friday, May 1, 2026 at the Jackson Purchase Medical Center. George retired from Saks Fifth Avenue where he was the Regional Director of Loss Prevention and Inventory Control. George lived life to the fullest. He was devoted to his daughter, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was also a devoted son, brother and uncle and always valued family over anything else. He made friends easily, and participated in many bluegrass festivals, where he was always the life of the party. George is survived by his daughter, Julie (Martin) Magnini of Nashville, TN; 7 Siblings, Pam Calvert, Virginia Best, Gayle Reedy, Lucy Creech, Eva Arvin, James Best and William Sanders; 2 Grandchildren, Toni (Troy) Jackson and Miles (Rilea) Magnini and 2 Great Grandchildren, Gia and Olive Jackson. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Marie Watkins Best; infant son and infant daughter; 2 Stepsons, Thomas and Joseph McGill; Brother, Chester Best; and 2 Sisters, Edith Ann Watkins and Emma Lee Gay.
Memorial Services will be held at a later date. Brown Funeral Home in Clinton are in charge of arrangements.
