Eddie Gene "Squeaky" Cornett of Hazel Green, Kentucky, beloved husband of Sandra Cole Cornett, departed this life Friday, December 26, 2025 at the age of 84 years, 6 months and 11 days. He was a son of the late Vincie Cornett and Ida Pritchard Cornett, born in Pebworth, Owsley County, Kentucky, on June 15, 1941. He was a carpenter by trade.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Cole Cornett of Hazel Green, Kentucky; one son, Eddie G. Cornett (Danielle) of Hazel Green, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Haley Rogers and Hunter Rogers; one brother, James Cornett (Maudie) of Booneville, Kentucky; two sisters, Ruby Kennedy and Ruth LaClair (Jerry) both of Lexington, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vincie Cornett and Ida Pritchard Cornett; one brother, Rudolph "Creed" Cornett; and three sisters, Pat Blake, Faye Callahan and Nellie Jelley. He also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Serving as pallbearers: John Jelley, Bill Blake, Gary Cornett, Earl Nickell, James Roberts and Ronnie Hearld. Serving as honorary pallbearers: Jerry LeClair, Clyde Endicott, Dewayne Kidd and Darin Kidd.
Visitation: Thursday, January 1, 2025 beginning at 10:00 A.M. at Porter and Son Funeral Directors, Campton, Kentucky.
Funeral Service: Thursday, January 1, 2025 beginning at 12:00 P.M. at Porter and Son Funeral Director's Chapel with Sister Violet Combs officiating.
