Compassionate Care Plus Offers Grief & Loss Support and Upcoming Shadowbox Memorial Workshops

Posted
Richmond, KY Compassionate Care Plus (formerly Hospice Care Plus) continues its commitment to supporting individuals and families navigating grief through its comprehensive Grief & Loss Support program, offered at no cost to the community thanks to generous donor support.

Designed to meet people wherever they are in their grief journey, the program includes weekly and evening support groups, one on one support, educational resources, and special remembrance opportunities. These services are available to anyone in the community experiencing loss, not just those served by Compassionate Care Plus.

As part of this program, Compassionate Care Plus will host Shadowbox Memorial Workshops on Wednesday, May 21 at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond.

“These workshops are designed to help individuals honor and remember their loved ones in a personal and meaningful way,” said Denise McKinney, Grief & Loss Support Coordinator. “Through creating a shadowbox with photos and special mementos, participants are able to reflect on their memories while also connecting with others who understand their experience.”

Each workshop offers a welcoming, supportive environment for reflection and remembrance. Light refreshments will be provided, and participants are encouraged to bring items that hold special meaning to include in their shadowbox.

“Grief is a deeply personal experience, but no one has to walk through it alone,” McKinney added. “Workshops like these create space for individuals to remember their loved ones in a tangible way while connecting with others who truly understand.”

Pre-registration is required to attend, and space is limited. Advance registration is necessary to ensure adequate materials and a meaningful experience for all participants. To reserve your spot, visit compassionatecareplus.org or call Denise at 859-986-1500.

Compassionate Care Plus (formerly Hospice Care Plus) has served the region for more than 40 years, providing compassionate, community-based care across six counties. Through programs like Grief & Loss Support, the organization continues its mission of supporting individuals and families living with serious and advanced illness, and the grief that often follows.
