Mr. Charles Lynn Riley, 79, passed away September 11, 2023 at his residence following a brief illness.
He was born March 24, 1944 in Owsley County, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Leonard & Bertie Bowman Riley and was the widower of Irene Angel Riley. He worked in the tree service.
Mr. Riley is survived by two daughters: Mrs. Welgina Thomas & husband Millard & Mrs. Rhonda Johnson all of Booneville, Ky., four grandchildren: Mr. Michael Johnson & wife Thea, Ms. Ashley Johnson, Mr. Aaron Thomas & Mr. Austin Thomas all of Booneville, Ky., three great-grandchildren: Elizabeth Grace Johnson, Oliver Johnson & Rowan Johnson all of Booneville, Ky., three brothers: Mr. Fred Riley, Mr. Jack Riley & Mr. Steve Riley all of Booneville, Ky. Also there are several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Leonard & Bertie Riley, his wife: Irene Riley, a son-in-law: Darrell Johnson and one brother: Elmer Riley.
Funeral services for Mr. Riley were held Saturday, September 16, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation starting at 11:00 a.m. at the Searcy & Strong Funeral Home. Officiating the service was the Rev. Terry Sandlin. Burial followed in the Brandenburg Cemetery on Sugar Camp in Owsley County.
The Searcy & Strong Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
