Brenda Gaye Cooper Jackson, widow of Edward Jackson and daughter of the late Clarence and Thelma Caudill Cooper was born in Richmond, Kentucky on June 15, 1954 and departed this life in Lexington, Kentucky on March 18, 2026 at the age of 71 years, 9 months, and 3 days. She attended the Beattyville Christian Church and was the former owner and operator at her salon, The Little Shop. She is survived by her two daughters, Connie Sturgis and husband Clinton and Bridgett Townsend and husband Gary; a brother, Phillip Cooper; a sister Sue Delaney and husband Larry; seven grandchildren, Matthew, Derek (Kenzie), Jada (Brandon), Corey, Katie, Shayla, and Macy; seven great grandchildren, Addyson, Kaden, Liam, Hendrik, Wrenlee, Bralyn and Lexi ; a special friend, Doris Easter; and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, Brenda was preceded in death by a daughter, Cherry Tirey; and her siblings, Denton Cooper, Densil Cooper (Lucy), Wanda Murrell (Roger), Linda Moore (Hugh), and Glenda Nichols (David). Services were held at Newnam Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 with Bro. Garett Thomas officiating. She was laid to rest next to her husband in the Steele Cemetery.
