Brenda Carol Spencer, born August 2, 1946 in Fillmore, Kentucky departed this life at her home in Fillmore on Thursday, December 11, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was a member of the Wide Creek Church.
Brenda is survived by three sons and one daughter, Liberty Steven Bowman, Mark Anthony Bowman, Wallace Bowman, and Diana Lynn Spencer; one adopted daughter, Brianna Barrett and husband Joe; two brothers, Larry Deaton and wife Tiny, who was also her life-long special friend and Rodger Deaton and wife Jean; her brother-in-law, Russell Spencer and wife Carol; two sisters-in-law, Vera Sue Deaton and Dana Jean Cundiff and husband Meryl; her grandchildren, Tyler, Stephanie, Nickolaus, Chase, and Liberty Mark Bowman, Kayla West, Brandon Bowman, Brianna Barrett, McKenzie Bowman, and Hailey Childers; 8 great grandchildren; as well as many nephews, nieces, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Loftis Spencer; her parents, Chester and Avis Deaton; five brothers, Nevil Deaton and wife Kathleen, Stanley Deaton and wife Thelma, Wilmer Deaton, Darrell Edward “Buck” Deaton, and Chester Deaton, Jr.; and three sisters, Faye Stamper and husband Sammy, Norma Palmer and husband Richard, and Sue Hardy and husband Orville.
Services held December 17, 2025 at Newnam Funeral of Beattyville. Burial in Chester Deaton Cemetery of Brush Creek, Lee Co. Newnam in charge of arrangements.
