Members of Booneville Chapter No. 446, Order of the Eastern Star, gathered Monday evening, October 27, for their annual installation of officers and shared in a delicious meal at the chapter hall at 38 South Court Street.

Officers for the 2025–26 year were elected during the September meeting and formally installed during the October ceremony.

Those installed were Yolanda Holbrook, Worthy Matron; Philip McIntosh, Worthy Patron; Amy Turner, Associate Matron; G.A. Turner, Associate Patron; Brenda Schular, Secretary; Krist Capo, Treasurer; Suzy Gentry, Conductress; and Sheila Mays, Associate Conductress.

Appointed officers for the year include Joe Havicus, Deatra Havicus, Helen McIntosh, Reva Rogers, Viola Barrett, Dedra Morgan, Floyd Campbell, Nancy Campbell and Ellen Banks.

The Order of the Eastern Star is a fraternal organization that welcomes both women and men. While the chapter is largely led by its female members, men must be Master Masons in good standing to join, and women must have a family connection to a Master Mason through birth or marriage.

Booneville Chapter was chartered on October 24, 1944 and is one of five Eastern Star Chapters in District 6. The other chapters in the district include Elizabeth Chapter No. 145 in Hazard, Pan Bowl Chapter No. 276 in Jackson, Irvine Chapter No. 357 in Irvine, and Rose of Sharon Chapter No. 570 in Hindman.

An Eastern Star member stated, “every member here feels like they are a part of my extended family”. She went on to say, “we are always happy when someone asks about the Eastern Star and applies for membership!”
