Bonnie Lou Reese Dunahoo, 77, of Beattyville, KY, passed away August 6, 2026, at Mercy Health - Marcum and Wallace Hospital. She was born in Beattyville, KY to the late Clyde Elmer Reese and Marie Moore Reese McGuire.
A devout member of the Southside Church of Christ in Beattyville, KY, Bonnie continued as a faithful servant to the Lord by building life around faith, family, home, friends, and community. She was known for her strength, kindness, and wisdom. Throughout the years, she was a supporting partner with her husband, Charlie, in several businesses, including Dunahoo Shell, Dunahoo Wrecker Service & Water Hauling, Dunahoo Auto and Trailer Sales, and Dunahoo General Store. In addition, Bonnie worked at Rose Brothers Department Store, Lee County Extension Service, Kentucky Department of Education (GED Program), and Kentucky Department of Transportation. She was active in the Republican Women’s Club, serving multiple leadership roles at both the local and state levels, the Beattyville/Lee County Ladies Fire Auxiliary, Lee County Girl Scouts, and the Lee County High School Band Boosters.
She is survived by her loving husband of over 58 years, Charles Dunahoo, Jr. of Beattyville, KY; three children, Charles Edward Dunahoo, III (Sandy) of Lexington, KY, Anna Marie Dunahoo of Beattyville, KY and Steven Clyde Dunahoo of Beattyville, KY; a grandson, Major Allen Dunahoo; siblings L.C. Bub Reese (Barbara), Nancy Abner (John), Becky Mullins (Joe), all of Beattyville, KY and Patty Reese Barrett of Booneville, KY; stepsiblings, Johnny McGuire (Connie), James McGuire and Bill McGuire; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Bonnie was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Sue Dunahoo; a brother, Thomas Robert Reese (Sue); stepfather, Luther McGuire; and stepsister, Freida June Gullett (Clayton).
Bonnie’s dedication to her family will remain a guiding presence for all who knew her. Her children and family were her world, and her husband was her deepest, dearest love.
