Kentucky High School Miss Golf, With Owsley County Roots, Chooses a College
July 30, 2024
Kylah Lunsford, an upcoming Senior at Henry Clay High School, was named 2023’s Kentucky Miss Golf. She accepted the award Nov. 5 at the Kentucky Golf Coaches Association’s banquet in Louisville.
Kylah, who won the Region 9 girls title this season and placed sixth in the KHSAA state championships, topped the coaches’ all-state points list.
Lunsford has roots in Owsley County. Her mother, Amy, graduated from OCHS, and her grandparents Joyce and Raleigh Osborne still live in the area.
Lunsford was the youngest golfer playing in the Kentucky Open, which included both pros and amateurs, and finished 8th out of 58 competitors.
The current Kentucky High School Miss Golf has committed to Murray State.
A healthy Owsley County requires great community news.
