Violet Combs

 Violet Combs, 84, of Island City, KY, passed away December 26, 2024, at the Owsley County Health Care Center, after a long illness. 

     She was a long-time, faithful member of First Baptist Church Island City. She was a retired Food Service Cook and Food Service Manager of Owsley County School System. 

     She was preceded in death by her husband; Wallace Combs, her parents; Carlo and Rebecca Allen, two brothers; Glen and Rondal Allen. 

     She is survived by four children: Gail and (Lonnie) Moore of Island City, KY; Larry Combs of Dover, TN; Janice Wilson of Island City, KY; Kevin Combs of Island City, KY; 7 Grandchildren: Rebecca and (Kevin) Hearn; Leah and (Dan) Black; Carrie and (Travis) Smith; Sarah and (Tim) Morrison; Hannah and (Jason) Wheeler; Keaton Combs; Autumn Combs; 19 Great Grandchildren and a host of family and friends.

     Visitation will be held Saturday, December 28, 2024 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the First Baptist Church of Island City. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 pm with Pastor Keith Murray, and Pastor Lonnie Moore Officiating. She will be laid rest beside her husband in the Allen Family Cemetery, in Booneville, KY.
