Barbara Smith

Barbara Smith, age 61, wife of Brian Smith, departed from this life on December 13, 2024 at her residence in the Little Sinking Creek Community of Lee County, KY.

     Barbara was born August 18, 1963 in Beattyville, KY to the late Hardy Shelton, Jr and Gwendlyon (Fox-Shelton) Farmer. She was a homemaker and loved to be a mother hen over her 10 nieces and 5 nephews and worked for the Daniel Boone Transit as a driver in Beattyville, KY.

     She is survived by her husband of 43 years; Brian Smith, 1 Brother; Michael Johnson of Beattyville, KY, 3 sisters; Tina (Christopher) Turner of Sand Gap, KY, Tabatha Hobbs of Beattyville, KY, and Connie (Lola Ray) Griffin of Beattyville, KY, 2 Step-Sisters; Renee Smallwood and Katrena Engel both of Hamilton, Ohio and a host of nieces and nephews along with many other loving family members and friends.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, Hardy and Gwendlyon, Step Father William Farmer , Step Mother Rhonda Shelton and 1 sister; Cynthia Childers.

     Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Booneville Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Booneville Funeral Home with Pastor Brody Keck officiating. 

     Barbara will be laid to rest in the Rock of Ages Cemetery, located in Beattyville, KY.
