Albert Gumm, Sr., 87, of Booneville, Kentucky passed away October 30, 2024 at the Owsley County Health Care Center after a long illness.
Mr. Gumm was born February 11, 1937 in Owsley County, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Haley Gumm, a retired farmer and member of the Baptist Church.
He is survived by his two sons Mr. Albert Gumm, Jr. of Booneville, Kentucky, and Mr. Danny Ray Gumm of Booneville, Kentucky, two daughters, Mrs. Debbie “Mitchel” Brandenburg of Booneville, Kentucky and Mrs. Callie Mae “Jerry” Maxie of Booneville, Kentucky, grandchildren- Ms. Nikki Gumm, Mr. Chelcy Gumm, Mr. Aaron Gumm, Mrs. Alana “Billy” Baker, Mr. Danny Gumm, Jr., Mrs. Hannah “Bradon” Mason and Mr. A.J. Maxie all of Booneville, Kentucky, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild and one sister, Ms. Nancy Gumm of Rockcastle County. Also he leaves behind several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife Doris J. Neeley Gumm, his mother Haley Gumm, one brother Sammy Gumm and two sisters Amanda Rowland and Helen Gumm.
Visitation was held Saturday, November 2, 2024 at 11:00 am until 1:00 pm, with funeral service Saturday, November 2, 2024 at 1:00 pm at the Searcy and Strong Funeral Home with Brother Keith Murray officiating. Burial followed in the Combs Cemetery at Vincent, Kentucky.
The Searcy and Strong Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
