Jimmy Ray Goodman

Jimmy Ray Goodman, age 73, of Beattyville, Kentucky passed away on June 29, 2024 at the West Liberty Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in West Liberty, Kentucky following a long illness. Jimmy was an Engineer for the Kentucky State Highway Department, former school board member for the Owsley County Board of Education, prepared taxes for people, and was a Honorary Kentucky Colonel.

Jimmy was born September 19, 1950 at Oneida, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Paul Bruce and Atta Mae Herald Goodman.

Mr. Goodman is survived by his wife Mrs. Emma Frances Flinchum Goodman of Beattyville, Kentucky, his granddaughter Ms. Sharah Lynn Mullins of Beattyville, Kentucky, his sisters Mrs. Jo Ann (Buford) Jarvis of Manchester, Kentucky and Mrs. Carolyn Tuttle of Winchester, Kentucky, his brothers Mr. Harold (Lois) Goodman of Booneville, Kentucky and Mr. Gary Goodman of Booneville, Kentucky. Several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Atta Mae Goodman, his sons Wendell Lee Goodman and Christopher Shane.

Visitation was held Wednesday, July 3, 2024 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm at the Searcy and Strong Funeral Home. Funeral services for Mr. Goodman was held Wednesday, 3, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the Searcy and Strong Funeral Home. Officiating the service was the Rev. Garrett Thomas. Burial followed in the Campbell Family Cemetery.
