Nelson Slone

Nelson Slone, son of the late Johnie Slone and Glacia Anderson Morrow was born in Lee County, Kentucky on January 13, 1950 and departed this life in Richmond, Kentucky on July 29, 2025 at the age of 75 years, 6 months, and 16 days. He was a jack of all trades, making a living as a heavy equipment operator, construction worker, and farmer.

     Nelson leaves behind his three daughters, Deliliah Thomas of Richmond, Kentucky, Angie Stewart of South Carolina, and Sherry Kunkel of Indiana; four grandchildren, Shane Thomas of Berea, Kentucky, Cameron Thomas and Levi Allen both of Richmond, Kentucky, and Kash Smith of Berea, Kentucky; his siblings, Kathy Bryant of Alabama, Sue Dick, Judy Poynter and husband Harvey all of Richmond, Kentucky, Johnnie Slone of Lincoln County, Kentucky, and Patricia Pitts of Lexington, Kentucky; and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Nelson was preceded in death by a son, Nelson Ray Slone; and siblings, Linda Collins Stepp, Dilent Moore, Essie Norman, Dessie Barnes, and Phillip Shannon Slone.

  His grandchildren serving as pallbearers. Services held August 2nd, 2025 at Newnam Funeral Home of Beattyville. Burial in Slone Cemetery of Wade Ridge Rd, Lee Co. Newnam in charge of arrangements.
