Glenda S. Mayne

Glenda S. Mayne, age 76, passed away Sunday, July 27, 2025 at the JWCC Hospice of Lake Cumberland, in Somerset, KY. Glenda was born November 23, 1948 in Richmond, KY, a daughter to the late Wayne King & Opal (Rogers) King. Glenda was saved at the age of 14, and in 1975 followed the Lord in Believers Baptism at the First Baptist Church of Richmond, in Richmond, KY. She later became a member of the Silver Creek Baptist Church in Berea, KY, and a member at heart of The First Baptist Church of Island City, in Island City, KY. She graduated Madison Central High School in 1967, in 1991 she graduated from the Eastern School of Beauty, and became a licensed cosmetologist.

     She is survived by 2 sons; Mendol Russell (Hope) Hoover Jr. of Versailles, KY, and Timothy Wayne (Kimberly) Hoover of Nancy, KY, 1 uncle; C.B. King of Florida, 4 grandchildren; Quinton Kyle Hoover, Gwendolyn Hoover, Cassadee Isabella Hoover, and Nathaniel Chase Becknell, and well as many other loving family members, and friends who will miss her dearly. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband; Mendol Russell Hoover Sr., and her late husband; Aaron Mayne, and 1 uncle; Frank Rogers.

    Visitation will be held Saturday, August 2, 2025 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at The First Baptist Church of Island City (4680 KY 1350 Island City, KY 40486). Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 2, 2025 at 1:00 pm at The First Baptist Church of Island City, with her grandson; Nathaniel Becknell officiating.
