Clyde Maurice Brewer, 84, of Booneville, Kentucky passed away June 6, 2025 at Clarks Regional Hospital in Winchester, Ky following a brief illness.
Clyde was born February 03, 1941 in Owsley County, Ky. He was the son of the late John and Ruby Becknell Brewer. Clyde or “Slick” to those who loved him, was a man known for his quiet strength, his deep love for family and his card playing skills. He was a proud Kentuckian through and through, rooted in faith, family and a simple honest way of life. His life was a testament to humility, compassion and resilience. Whether he was sharing stories on the porch, lending a helping hand or simply showing up for those he loved, his presence was a blessing and his absence will be deeply felt. He leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. He will be missed dearly.
He is survived by his daughter Vickie “Ricky” Burkhart, his son Tim Brewer, his cherished grandchildren Casey Burkhart and Dwight “Misty” Burkhart and his beloved great-grandchildren Kylee, Jaxon, Wesley and Garrett. His also remembered fondly by a host of extended family members, friends and all those who knew him.
In addition to his parents Clyde was preceded in death by his loving wife Anna Lee Brewer and several brothers and sisters who welcomed him home with open arms.
Funeral Services for Clyde will be held at 3 P.M. on Thursday, June 12, 2025 at Searcy & Strong Funeral Home in Booneville with Brother Henry Lloyd Deaton officiating. Burial will follow in the Carmack Cemetery behind Walnut Grove Church in Island Creek, Ky. A visitation will begin at 1 P.M. on Thursday at the Searcy and Strong Funeral Home.
