May 31, 2025

In Partnership with the Owsley County Senior Citizen’s Center and KY River Elder Abuse Awareness Council, the Owsley County Soil Conservation District purchase vegetables plants to be use in their raise beds at the Senior Citizen’s Center in Booneville, to commemorate May 2025 as Older American/Elder Abuse Awareness month in the KY River Area in which Owsley County Judge-Executive Zeke Little signed a proclamation on how important our seniors are that we treasure.
Magistrates Jason Reed, Alan Taylor and Jeff Dooley were in attendance and Jerry McIntosh, Owsley County Emergency Management, Teresa Bowling Senior Citizens director and members of the Owsley County Soil Conservation District Board, Gary McIntosh and James Cornett along with some of our awesome seniors.

This is just a reminder to everyone in our community, county and city of the importance of recognizing the value of our older citizens and to stop elder abuse in the KY River area.
A healthy Owsley County requires great community news.
