James E. Dunaway

James E. Dunaway, age 64, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2025 at his home in Irvine, KY. James was born May 4, 1960, in Oneida, KY, a son to the late Elmer Dunaway & Barbara (Warner) Dunaway. He was a member of the Pine Crest First Church of God, and in his free-time he enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, hunting for Ginseng, and most of all he loved being a grandfather.

   Along with his wife of 36 years; Lisa (Johnson) Dunaway, he is survived by 1 son; James (Pam) Dunaway, 2 daughters; Misty Dunaway and Melinda (Kendall) Dunaway, and 8 grandchildren; Jacob Dunaway, Maci Custard, Makaylynn Dunaway, Samuel McDaniel, Zachary Caudill, Jasmine Caudill, Lucas Caudill, and Peyton Couch, as well as many other loving family members, and friends.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer & Barbara Dunaway, 1 brother; Michael Dunaway, 2 nephews; Aaron Dunaway and Everett Johnson, and 2 angel grandbabies. Funeral services  held Saturday, April 12, 2025 at the Pine Crest First Church of God with Pastor Weston Fike officiating. He was laid to rest in the Dunaway Family Cemetery located near his home in Irvine, KY. The Booneville Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
