According to authorities, a Kentucky truck driver, Andrew Hedrick, 39, of London, was arrested by Laurel Sheriff's Detective Taylor McDaniel, Friday night April 11, 2025 at approximately 10:38 PM, on rape and other charges after the company he worked for helped track him through GPS.

The Sheriff’s Office contacted the trucking company, which turned on the GPS unit in the truck Hedrick was in, allowing Officers to track him, according to the release.

Sheriff Root saw Hedrick heading south on Interstate 75 near Berea, but he abruptly turned around and headed north, away from London, according to authorities.

Police continued to track Hedrick’s vehicle, and Officers from the Kentucky State Police, the Scott County Sheriff’s Office, and the Georgetown Police Department took him into custody Friday evening near a business off I-75 in Scott County.

Hedrick is charged with first-degree rape, first-degree sodomy and first-degree sexual abuse of a victim under age 12, Sheriff Root said. Police said the victim had allegedly been sexually abused for about seven years, according to authorities.

Hedrick was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.

All are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
